The Crew Behind Christopher's Promise

We all see during our bike giveaways the positive impact Christopher's Promise has on the lives of the children we serve. Christopher was fifteen years of age before he was able to ride a bicycle for the first time in his life. In an effort to provide children like Christopher with the same hallmark childhood memories, a promise was made. After realizing circumstances like this exist, Christopher's Promise aims at making the typical childhood experiences accessible to all children. Without hesitation, we team up to fullfill the "Promise".

LAUREN LICHTENAUER

"...Outside of being a camp counselor and helping kids receive bikes, Lauren is busy spending time with her family and friends in Westerville, Ohio."

Lauren Lichtenauer

Founder | Christopher's Promise

As if one weren't enough, Lauren entered this world alongside her twin sister, Kristen. Together they spent their childhood riding their bikes through the neighborhood, rubbing wheels, and riding in circles around each other. To this day, it remains as one of her finest childhood memories. Lauren attended Otterbein University in pursuit of a Secondary Education Degree and quickly became absorbed in the betterment of adolescents of all ages. Just after her Junior year of college, she was urged to complete an internship. Needless to say, this was the experience that would lead to it all. She secured a position with a camp for children facing life-threatening illnesses, where she would then meet Christopher in the summer of 2009. From that day forward, she'd choose to pursue her career in business and healthcare, but has also remained heavily involved with kiddos facing special circumstances. Lauren founded Christopher's Promise in 2011 after fate would allow Lauren and Christopher's paths to cross again after nearly 4 years since their initial meeting in 2009. Outside of being a camp counselor and helping kids receive bikes, Lauren is busy spending time with her family and friends in Westerville, Ohio.

JIM PRESCOT

"...Jim brings a wealth of creative and knowledgeable solutions to the table, not to mention great energy and laughter."

Jim Prescot

Lead DayMaker | Christopher's Promise

Jim is our newest member as of January 2015 and has hit the ground running by trying to come up with a tandem solution for a challenging recipient. A "way" outside of the box thinker, Jim has an engineering/design background and is always looking for a way to do more for others. Jim's interest peaked after seeing a local news story involving a bike recipient from his neighborhood. Immediately, Jim felt connected to the cause and reached out to see where his skillset may fit within the organization and voila, it was meant to be! Jim brings a wealth of creative and knowledgeable solutions to the table, not to mention great energy and laughter. Jim is slowly coming to terms with the fact that his 2 teenage daughters have better things to do than to go to the zoo or sit on the couch and watch Pixar movies with him. Aside from having a genuine interest in CP and its mission, this is just one way he is looking to make better use of his additional free time!
